Bristol Photographer Tames Wild Vortex

I was lucky enough to be shown a picture of what I can only describe as an inside out view of a vortex. It’s the most beautiful view of a whirlpool I’ve ever seen, a truly spectacular result for someone who has obviously given some serious dedication to the art and craft of his chosen profession. Luckily, Paul was generous enough to let me post my new favourite thing on my own website.

And to think I only asked Paul if I could feature one of his Westonbirt Arboretum photographs. I like my trees and waterfalls but I’m seriously thinking of doing a website with whirlpools (yeah and maybe some time lapse.)

Is it the start of a wasp nest? Is a queen wasp in there somewhere? I took the picture last year just before this particular field was cut for hay.

A good game is mixing and matching song lyrics. You gotta sing ‘em though. Like: “This is major Tom to ground control/you’re a rocket man!” etc. More fun is Billy Joel: “Play us a song, you’re the piano man/but you’re always a woman to me.” I reckon you could write whole poems this way. It’s like genetic engineering. Here’s the bastard offspring of David Bowie and Strapping Young Lad:
